Systematic reflection to organize and improve teaching and develop effective relationships.
One of the many jobs of a teacher is to continuously improve on the craft. Teachers are constantly researching and developing ways to develop effective techniques, relationships, and methods in the classroom to better assist and teach students. Often this job is done by reflecting back on what has previously been done. Figuring out what worked best, how to improve it, and what could have gone better whether it be with a lesson, unit, or classroom management technique. Making sure to include student opinions and evaluations in a reflection is also key; developing simple rubrics or questionnaires for students to answer will definitely enhance and provide insight into what actually does and does not work best for learners.
