Why Teaching?
Teaching has and always will be my passion. From a young age, my mind never strayed from this career choice. My teachers growing up and even to this day are my heroes and looking back, I realize just how much they helped me to grow as a person and as a future educator. I have never had the same drive and motivation for any other career path and I will do whatever it takes to follow in their footsteps!

My Teacher, My Hero
For most parents, it is difficult to get a child to go to school. For my Mom, it was always the complete opposite in elementary school. My 2nd-4th grade teacher, Mrs. Elizabeth Barrow played a large part in that. To this day, I look up to this woman as one of my biggest heroes. To sum her up in a few adjectives would never do her justice, but if I had to I would include the following: kind, intelligent, open, honest, and passionate about her career. If I ever need one driving force or person to remind me why I chose this career path from day one, I will always have the memories and advice from this inspiring woman.

Management Style in the Classroom
My management style is as authoritative as possible. I believe in a student-centered approach while also maintaining a control over the classroom. Students need to have structure, but also be disciplined. Trust and respect goes both ways, and keeping that is crucial to develop positive teacher-student relationships.

Educational Philosophy
Every single student has the means and capabilities to learn. Students will come from a variety of diverse backgrounds, but each and every single person will have something unique to bring to the classroom. It is my job as a teacher to help all students reach their fullest potential and personal best. Teaching is a lifelong learning process; it is a journey that I will take along with each and every single one of my students as we move forward in life.
